Veterans Memorial Arena

Located in Mineral Springs Park, Veterans Memorial Arena is over 34,800 square feet of fun and buzzing activity under one roof. It is also home to many of our recreational programs including our tumbling classes, dance classes, ice skating classes, and hockey leagues.

Ice Arena

Available Seasonally

The Ice Arena goes all out to bring the joy of flying across the ice to our area. Featuring a 200′ x 85′ USA Hockey regulation rink and a skate room equipped with rental skates and sharpening equipment, kids and adults can easily enjoy some time on the ice. Rental skates are available in women’s, men’s, and tot sizes 6-14. In addition to open skates, there is also a hockey program for boys and girls, a Learn to Skate program (for all ages) that teaches everything from glides to jumps and spins, and special group rates for skating parties. The ice arena is also handicapped accessible, making it easy for everyone to get in some fun. Check out our many hockey and ice skating classes and public skating sessions.

Many teams and groups also call Veterans Memorial Arena home. This includes the Pekin Dragons Hockey Club, Pekin Amateur Hockey Association, Pekin Flyers AAU Hockey Program, Central Illinois Sled Hockey Association, and Precise Ice Skating Team.

Gym & Dance Studio

Our Gym & Dance studios are also located inside Veterans Memorial Arena. Younger dancers eagerly climb the stairs to the second-level dance studio each week throughout the school year. This also happens to be one of the main sources of hopping beats you’ll hear echoing the halls. Behind the stairs, is a fully equipped gymnastic space with Tumble Traks and mats for tiny tumblers and cheerleaders to perfect their skills. Find classes for tumble, dance, and cheer.

Private Rentals 

The Ice Rink is available for private ice rentals. You can also rent out the rink floor when ice isn’t present from April through September. The space will accommodate 1,500 spectators and is available for group functions, expos, concerts, and various functions. Concessions are available during games and open skates.

Recreation Offices

Pekin Park District’s Recreation Offices are also located just inside the front doors of the Arena. Hop in to say hi to our team, check out some of the programs we have available, or to sign up for one of our many programs. Our office is open Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
